About the Pastor

PASTOR GILBERT WILLIAMS
 
Pastor Gilbert Williams was born in Verdun France to Wilbert and Bessie Williams. He is a native of
Napoleonville Louisiana. At the time of his birth his Father was serving in the United States Army. He
served with distinction until he retired.

He is happily married to the former Gwendolyn Sykes of Louisville Georgia for 31
years. They are the proud parents of three Children. Gabrielle, Gaillynn and Gilbert II. They have one
grandson (Braxton.) Both daughters are graduates of Oakwood University and their son is currently a
second year student at Oakwood University. Gwendolyn currently teaches at the Aldine Independent
School District in Houston.

Pastor Williams is also a graduate of Oakwood University with dual degrees, a Bachelor of Arts in Theology
and an Associates of Science degree in Communications. He is also a graduate of Andrews Theological
Seminary in Berrien Springs Michigan where he earned the Masters in Pastoral Ministry degree.

He's also served in Southwest Region Conference for thirty one years of Pastoral leadership in the states of
Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas. Pastor Williams has constructed and renovated churches, and baptized
over 500 persons. He serves as the Southwest Region Conference Pastoral Representative on the NAD
Regional Black Caucus. He has held this position for the past 10 years. This Committee focuses on 
Regional Retirement and the Think Tank for growth and development for all Regional Conferences in
North America. Pastor Williams has also served previously on the Southwest Region Conference
Executive Committee for two terms. In 2012 he was selected to receive Runner Up Pastor of the year
award for Southwest Region Conference.

Pastor William's most recent accomplishment is the completion of the New Church Sanctuary for the
Smyrna Seventh-day Adventist Church in Houston where he served for 12 years as well as the Hebron
Church.  

Pastor Williams earnestly believes that Jesus will return soon as he promised. He strongly believes that
Seventh-day Adventist Christians must seize every opportunity to advance God’s end time message. He
is committed to bloom where he is planted for Jesus. He is an Encourager. He is a Builder. He is a
Proclaimer and he is committed to helping others to use their gifts to help others to discover life in
Christ.
